MS without Thesis
The Molecular Biology and Genetics Masters Program without Thesis offers advanced cell and molecular biology and genetics courses as well as electives in areas, such as cancer biology, neuroscience, and bioinformatics. Students in the Molecular Biology and Genetics program will engage in experimental research by working with faculty members in their cutting-edge research programs.
Degree Requirements
Molecular Biology and Genetics non-thesis master program consists of 10 courses of at least 30 credits, seminar course and term project.
Students are required to complete at least thirty (30) credits by taking at least ten (10) required and elective courses according to their areas of interest. Unless stated otherwise, courses are 3 credits. With the approval of their advisors, students can take a maximum of 3 undergraduate courses to provide a basis for graduate courses, and these undergraduate courses can be used to complete the course and credit requirements of the non-thesis master program.
In addition to the credit courses, students must complete the non-credit courses; MBGE 591 - Term Project, MBGE 590 - Seminar, ETHR 500 - Scientific Research Methods and Research and Publication Ethics, and ENGL 502 - Effective Writing and Presentation.
Conditions of Acceptance
1. Receiving a satisfactory grade from the exam administered by the MBGE department.
2. Having graduated from a bachelor’s program with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
3. TOEFL or YDS/e-YDS/YOKDIL Requirement (for those whose native language is not English)
– Internet Based TOEFL: Minimum Score 80 (Exams taken in Türkiye must be carried out at the State Universities.)
