Overview
Seda Keskin Avcı is a Professor at the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department of Koç University and the Director of Nanomaterials, Energy, and Molecular Modeling Research Group (NEMO). She received her BSc. and MSc. degrees from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Boğaziçi University in 2004 and 2006, respectively, and completed her PhD at the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. She joined Koç University in 2010 and became a full professor in 2018. She is the youngest woman professor in Türkiye in her field. She has 170 publications on energy applications of MOFs which received>11,000 citations. She has been recognized as “Outstanding Women in Chemical Engineering Across the Globe” by the Chemical Engineering Research and Design. She received the ERC Starting Grant in 2017 and ERC Consolidator Grant in 2023, which both marks the first ERC grants received by a women scientist in the field of engineering in Türkiye.
