The impact of informatics on society is felt significantly as the digital revolution changes the World. We aim to advance knowledge in Computer Science and Engineering, and by applying this knowledge to studies in interdisciplinary fields, we aim to enrich the scope of Computer Science to solve the complex problems of our changing world.
The aim of the program is to provide the opportunity to specialize in computer science and engineering. This program will help those who desire to work in the industry’s research and development sector and concentrate on current computer science subjects after completing their undergraduate studies. The program aims to provide students with fundamental beginning undergraduate knowledge in computer engineering with opportunities for progress and interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies in the area.
Degree Requirements
Computer Science and Engineering non-thesis program consists of
Students are required to complete at least thirty (30) credits by taking at least ten (10) elective courses according to their interests. Unless otherwise stated, courses are 3 credits. With the approval of their advisors, students can take a maximum of 3 undergraduate courses to form a basis for graduate courses, and these undergraduate courses can be used to complete the course and credit requirements of the non-thesis master’s program.
Among the courses offered within the scope of GSSE, the courses recommended by the advisor and approved by the GSSE Executive Council can also be taken in order to meet the ten course and thirty credit requirements.
In addition to the ten courses mentioned above, all students are required to take the COMP 590 seminar course.
CONDITIONS OF ACCEPTANCE
– Minimum score of 75 in ALES Quantative Test.
– Minimum score (indicated) in one of the tests below:
Internet based TOEFL: Minimum Score 80 (Exams taken in Türkiye must be carried out at the State Universities.)
YDS/e-YDS/YOKDIL: 80
– If a Koç University Computer Science and Engineering BS degree holder satisfies all of the requirements above, admission to the program is guaranteed and automatic.
– If a Koç University Computer Science and Engineering BS degree holder does not satisfy all of the requirements above, admission to the program may still be possible based on the recommendation of the program admission committee after a personal interview with the candidate.
– Minimum score (indicated) in one of the tests below:
Internet Based TOEFL: Minimum Score 80 (Exams taken in Türkiye must be carried out at the State Universities.)
YDS/e-YDS/YOKDIL: 80
– There are no other requirements.
– Applicants with a promising track record will be called for personal interviews by the program admission committee.
– Program admission committee issues a recommendation against or for the admission of applicant to the program after a personal interview and careful consideration.
– Minimum score of 75 in ALES Quantative Test.
– Minimum score (indicated) in one of the tests below:
Internet based TOEFL: Minimum Score 80 (Exams taken in Türkiye must be carried out at the State Universities.)
YDS/e-YDS/YOKDIL: 80
– If a Koç University BS/BA degree holder satisfies all of the requirements above, admission to the program is guaranteed and automatic.
– If a Koç University BS/BA degree holder does not satisfy all of the requirements above, admission to the program may still be possible based on the recommendation of the program admission committee after a personal interview with the candidate.
